Port Macquarie Animal Hospital

We have adopted an orphaned koala called Ocean Summer.

All adoptions help with the rescue and treatment of sick and injured koalas and release back to their home range where possible.  Our adoption also assists with the conservation and expansion of habitat, collection of information for research relating to habitat, disease, nutrition and habits of wild koalas.  It also helps to provide educational material to increase public awareness of all aspects of the koala.

We have adopted orphaned orangutans Sam and Cupcake.

Only 1 out of 6 orphans are lucky enough to be rescued - over 1,000 orphaned orangutans are living in rescue and rehabilitation centres. Care of these infants is costly and requires 24hr staff, veterinary, and nurse care to ensure they are in a healthy condition and have the best chance of returning to life in the wild.

By adopting these orangutan we are providing:

  • Health care for orphaned orangutans
  • A nurturing and loving environment
  • Enrichment and stimulation to develop skills
  • Nutritious and healthy food
  • Bedding and play materials
  • Medical and veterinarian care
  • Forest school training and skills
  • Resources for orangutan rescues, releases and habitat protection

Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and wellbeing They also raise awareness about the importance of trees, offer businesses like ours a simple sustainability solution, and motivate younger generations to do something positive for the environment.

We’re honored to have reforestation through One Tree Planted as an integral part of our business model.

Clean Up Australia Day

We have participated in Clean Up Australia Day, which started thirty years ago, by an "average Australian bloke" who had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard. It has now become the nation's largest community-based environmental event that inspires and empowers communities to clean up, fix up and conserve our environment.
